The school bell sounded as Jibo strolled slowly onto the school's campus. He was late again, and his first period teacher was going to be anything other than excited. The red haired teen rubbed his eyes and yawned, removing his fists to reveal the large dark circles beneath his eyes. Dressed in overall simple clothes; a hoodie and jeans, Jibo looked no different then how he originally looked. He picked up pace after the bell rang, but out of the desire to not be yelled at, not the desire to actually succeed. Though his parents nagged at him constantly, arguing that he would not ever amount to anything, Jibo saw his future going a different way than common work. it had been 4 years since his powers manifested and he knew himself to be a tanuki. Though signs of the transformation had already occured on his body, no one took too much notice or made to big an inquiry about the dark circles under his eyes, his yellow irises, or his slightly pointed ears.

He had entered the school building now, and was walking down the hall towards his Writing class. Though he was a couple minutes late, he was not the only student roaming the halls. Pulling open the door to his class, the focus of all his fellow students, along with the teacher, shifted towards him. Ducking his head he wandered to an open desk in the middle of the room, sitting down quickly. The teacher glared at Jibo for a moment, then resumed her lesson to his relief. It was 8:35 a.m. and this Thursday had just begun.

Kushina was in the middle of sleeping from a long time last night of not getting to sleep. She looked at the clock and jumped up. "WHAT" she yelled! It was already 8:00 She got up and put some clothes on not bothering with her hair and jumped up and saw the bus start to pull away from the stop. She sprinted as fast as she could waving her arms in the direction of the bus. The bus saw her and slowed down.

She entered class at 8:25 like normal and laid her head down. The bell rang and she took out a piece of paper. She then saw someone who looked like she did stroll into the classroom and she chuckled. "Looks like i'm not the only one who was sleeping" she muttered.

Jibo glanced around the room, noticing a red haired girl who watched him come in. Smiling in a purely friendly manner, he returned his attention to the teacher. The girl he noticed looked a bit older than the rest of them, possibly too old for high school anyways. His ears twitched as he heard the hall monitor walk past the room, his animal senses acting slightly wacky. It was all he could do to keep himself in check these days, for new and strange abilities appeared all the time, the most recent of these being a special sense of smell. He was able to smell the scent of every person in the room. While many people let off no smells whatsoever, a few select figures had smells too storng to ignore. One teen, an overweight fellow in the corner, smelled putrid, as if he hadn't showered in days. The other noticeable scents were from undetermined females in the room, each scent surely meant to allure and seduct. Trying to keep his head above the scent, Jibo sat up straight in his seat. This was getting difficult.

She sighed as she laid back down, she really needed to feed on a dead soul soon so she wouldn't age anymore. Everyone was looking at her funny because she had tried a living soul last night, and she guessed that it made her look way older. She asked the teacher to go to the bathroom and left out to find a dead soul. She tried around the school and found that there was 2 plus living just in this district. She hated doing this in front of eyes, but no one would be able to see what she was actually doing. She looked behind her to make sure nobody was behind her and she proceeded to the plus she knew was there. She located it and was surprised how far it was to transforming into a hollow. Well, she said, it's better to put it out of it's misery. She again looked to make sure no one was behind her and she consumed the plus as fast as she could. She then ran back to class and drenched her face with water to make it look like she did go to the bathroom. She walked into the classroom and she heard the teacher scolding her, but she didn't listen. She sat in her seat and then all of a sudden she tuned in. "Do you hear what i am saying? You took way to long" "yes teacher", she replied and layed her head down once again.

((OOC: Lol I only put you look a bit too old because your character's profile says you look like you are 23 years old. However, I want to give you kudos for canonly explaining what makes Bounts age XD))

The girl he had glanced at got up quickly, leaving the class for a bathroom break. With slight boredom, Jibo began to flip through pages in his grammar book. This class was one of Jibo's least favorite classes, though it was closely followed by every other class he had. He glanced at the clock, noting only 5 minutes of the class had passed by, leaving 40 more minutes until his next class, Gym. Though it was fairly near the end of the year, Jibo realized he had not really socialized as much as he should of, for he only really had a surface relationship with the other kids in the class. As he classmates prattled on about the pointless classwork, Jibo watched the clock closely. It had been a good while since the girl had left for the bathroom, surely she had taken a detour or simply was ditching class. He began to doodle in his notebook images of racoons and trees. When his abilities first manifested he felt inclined to name his kind what his powers resembled, yet it seemed the further he grew, the more and more he did actually become like a racoon dog. The girl walked into class and layed her head down only a moment before the bell rang, signalling a five minute break in between classes. Most of the other kids had already packed their things and bolted outside, however Jibo was in no rush. Packing slowly and lingering around, he decided to start up some small talk with the girl he who had missed most of class before she left to her next period. There was something strange in the air about her, as if she was different from the others in his class. He couldn't put a finger on what is was though. " You okay? You missed quite a bit of class." He said to her with a playful chuckle.

When she heard the bell ring she began to get ready when the buy whho was late was talking to her. "Well, I didn't get a lot of sleep last night and I was hungry so I had to go eat something". Well, it wasn't a lie, but she had not told the whole truth either. "So what's your next class? I have to go to retarded English". This wasn't a complete lie either although she was supposed to go to class she wasn't going to go. So, what's your name? Mines kushina. I hope I get to see you soon but I really have to go to class. She rushed across the building knowing immediately that their was something here that wasn't supposed to be. Shit.. A hollow here? She knew she really couldn't do anything about it but she needed to get rid of it now. She faced the thing and she knew that she was in trouble. She was struck on the head and she fell down.

The girl seemed in an extreme hurry, grabbing her things quickly and packing her pack. As she asked him what his next class was, he sighed aloud. " Gym class. Too early in my opinion." As he was finishing his sentence she had interrupted him in her haste, introducing herself as Kushina before turning and leaving the class. " Doesn't she want to know me name?" Following after her quickly, Jibo turned to the direction she had fled to see her running across the green courtyard. He hadn't even had a chance to speak with her. "Thats what I get for being friendly." Just as he began to turn and head the other direction, his world shook around him. A reiatsu greater than his own had entered the immediate area, and from it's cold and desperate aura, Jibo knew it to be hollow. He turned quickly, witnessing as Kushina was struck over the head by the beast's giant fist.

It stood humanoid at 16 feet tall. The extremely large hollow had lion-like features, its mask even having protruding whiskers. As it stood over Kushina, Jibo figured he must have been wrong about her being different. In this case she was just as defenseless as any other classmate. He usually tried his best to stay out of these situations, finding it best to simply ignore whatever was happening. This situation was different however. Even though having only exchanged a couple words with her, he felt they would become good friends. Though she was pretty, it was not about any attraction between the two, for Jibo was not into her that way at all, but rather she seemed to be a genuinely nice person, and a bit of guilt ebbed at his innards as he contemplated ignoring the attack. As the hollow began to reach down to grab her, surely seeking to break her soul from her body by killing her, Jibo acted without thinking. He sprinted forward, picking a large serrate leaf off a nearby bush as he leaped forward. He delivered a leaping kick into the hollow's chest, causing it to stumble backwards but not actually damaged much. Quickly, Jibo landed beside Kushina's unconcious body, grabbing her around the waste with his left arm. As he heaved her light body onto his shoulder, Jibo blew gently on the leaf he grabbed, utilizing one of his soul classes mysterious abilities and dissappearing in a wisp of wind.

They reappeared outside the nurse's office, where Jibo set Kushina down on the couch in the lobby. He rushed forward quickly, banging loudly on the nurse's door and shouting for her assistance. Before she came out of her office, Jibo grabbed a leaf off an indoor plant nearby. Blowing on it again, he found himself back in the courtyard, several yards away from the hollow, who had now begun stalking a group of freshmen. Jibo shook his head, he was not usually so sympathetic, prefering to stay out of things. Something called to him from within however, as if it was in his nature to protect. Picking five leaves from a nearby bush, Jibo sighed. He began to sprint at the hollow full speed, which in turn noticed his spirit energy and changed its attention to him. As the hollow began to launch a swiping attack, Jibo slid beneath it, grabbing its foot with his right hand and blowing on one of the leaves with his left hand.

The hollow and he dissappeared from the school yard. In a quick reappearance, Jibo and the hollow found themselves in freefall above the Karakura Community Park. Letting go of the flailing hollow, Jibo quickly pulled one of the other leaves he had grabbed and blew on it hard, focusing his mind on the nurse's office. In another wisp of wind he reappeared on the lawn outside the nurse's office. This had been the quickest succession he had ever used the Leaf Ride, and forcibly moving a large hollow had tired him greatly. Stumbling back into the nurse's office and falling into an arm chair, the last conscious thing he remembered was a nurse standing above him.

I'm not helpless.... I'm not helpless... I'M NOT HELPLESS!! She woke up yelling these words and she found herself in the nurses office. How did I get here She muttered... The nurse then came in and started asking me how did I get this huge bump on my head? What, I have a bump on my head? She felt it and the nurse was right. Well, I think it was when I fell.... I don't remember much... can I leave now? The nurse said no and then I lapsed into unconsciousness. i woke up and I found the boy who I was hanging out with earlier in here. How did you get here She yelled. But then she saw that he was asleep so she sat back down and reviewed thoughts in her head. She decided something and left . She strolled down the street knowing that he had to be around here somewhere... But she couldn't find the hollow anywhere. She decided that this was the last time that she was going to be helpless. But she felt bad about that boy so she went back to the nurses office and saw him laying there. After being chewed out by the nurse she said sorry and sat back down and waited for him to gain consciousness.

His vision came back to him as he found himself lying down on the couch of the nurse's office, a wet towel draped over his face. Pulling it off, Jibo sat up, almost falling over with dizziness. Peering up, he saw that Kushina was awake and seemingly well, causing him to smile slightly. He had acted very unlike himself today, actually taking the initiation to become active in the business of the spirit world, rather than wait around and do nothing. The nurse came in quickly, urging him to remain seated as she inspected him. After several moments of poking and prodding, she stood to her feet and laughed. " You need to get more sleep! Your eyes have dark circles around them!" Figuring that was the reason he fainted, the nurse walked away in a hurry. Jibo giggled as he heard her mistake his dark circles for a sign of exhaustion. Though he was exhausted, it was not because of any lack of sleep. Sighing aloud, he addressed Kushina.

" You okay? You...uhm...fell." He didn't know whether or not she could see hollows, and didn't want to sound crazy by announcing she had been attacked by evil spirits. He hated lying, however he wasn't ready to reveal himself as a freak of nature to the world yet, rather wishing to keep his status as a Tanuki a secret. Regular humans wouldn't understand this anyways
